Home > Connect

The heart of Christian community is real relationships.  At Highland, there is a place for you to connect on a deeper level with other people.  In our studies, small groups, and fellowship you can find your community.

Starting Point

Be our guest at a Starting Point lunch on the second Sunday of the month at 12:15 p.m. the church Conference Room. We'll provide lunch and Pastors Alan and Charlie will share about what life in our Highland UMC community looks like.  There will also be time for you to share more about yourself.  Coming to Starting Point is not a commitment to join the church, but a way for new visitors to learn more about the congregation to make a more informed decision about joining in the future.
Our next Starting Point will be January 14.  So we can have enough food, please let us know that you are coming by the prior Wednesday.  You can register here or call the church office during business hours at 919-787-4240.

Pub Theology: Different Brews, Different Views

Second Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM at Buffalo Brothers on Lake Boone Trail

The concept is simple: beer, conversation, and God. On the second Tuesday of each month, Highland folks meet out in our local community for Pub Theology at Buffalo Brothers on Lake Boone Trail. This is a time to meet with new and familiar faces, to discuss what's happening in the world, and to listen for how God is at work out there. Each month we have a specific topic to discuss, and we provide an open space for different opinions. It's a great way to go deeper in your faith, to invite someone to talk about faith that may be hesitant to come to church, or to build friendships with Highland folk if you're not already connected.
